No cover when airline goes bust
Only 1 in 4 travel insurance policies offer travel cover if the policy holder is unable to fly home because their airline has gone bust, according to research by Defaqto.

The researcher found that nearly 77% of travel insurance policies don't cover airline failure and one occasions that they did it may only offer a refund for the missed flight and not any of the cost attributed to the extend length of the policy holders stay, such as accommodation and pre booked activities.

The recent collapse of travel companies during and post recession have highlighted the necessity for consumers to carefully read any policies that they take out and make sure that they are really receiving the cover they think they are.
